Rebirthing Breathwork

rebirthing breathwork

Rebirthing breathwork is a therapeutic breathing technique founded by Leanord Orr, aimed at releasing emotional blockages and promoting physical, mental, and emotional healing. It's based on the belief that our breath is directly linked to our emotional and psychological state, and by altering our breathing patterns, we can access and release deeply held emotions and traumas. Practising Rebirthing Breathwork is known to reproduce memories of being in the womb, healing birth trauma, and allowing one to be rebirthed with a new energetic pattern.

Here's how a typical session might unfold:

  1. Preparation: The individual lies comfortably in a relaxed position, often with eyes closed. The facilitator creates a safe and supportive environment, establishing trust and confidentiality.

  2. Breathing Techniques: The individual is guided to engage in deep, rhythmic breathing patterns, often focusing on inhaling and exhaling without pausing between breaths through the nose. This continuous breathing pattern stimulates the body's natural healing processes and releases emotional tension.

  3. Emotional Release: As the individual continues with the breathing technique, they may experience various emotions such as sadness, anger, fear, or joy. These emotions indicate underlying issues or traumas being released from the subconscious mind.

  4. Integration: The facilitator provides emotional support and guidance throughout the session to help individuals navigate their experiences. After the breathing session, there is often the time for reflection and integration, allowing the individual to process their emotions and insights.

Rebirthing breathwork is often used to address a wide range of issues, including anxiety, stress, trauma, relationship challenges, and self-limiting beliefs. While many people find it a powerful and transformative practice, it may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with certain medical conditions or psychological concerns. You should work with a qualified and experienced practitioner who can provide guidance and support throughout the process.

Rebirthing Breathwork can evolve into practising breathwork underwater with a nose plug and snorkel; this style of breathing encourages birth memories more efficiently; however, it is only provided for established breathwork students who can keep themselves present and breathing without instruction.

Core Clearing Breathwork

core clearing breathwork

Core Clearing Breathwork is a therapeutic modality that combines elements of breathwork, mindfulness, and somatic experience to facilitate emotional release, trauma healing, and personal growth. It aims to clear energetic blockages stored in the body's core, typically from childhood repressed memories, that may be hindering personal development and causing emotional distress.

Here's an overview of how Core Clearing Breathwork typically works:

  1. Preparation: The individual is guided to find a comfortable position, usually sitting upright, and encouraged to relax and focus on their breath. The facilitator creates a safe and supportive environment, establishing trust and confidentiality.

  2. Breathing Techniques: Participants are guided in specific gentle breathing patterns designed to activate the body's natural healing response. This may involve slow,  deep, connected, heart-centred breathing or other specialized techniques to stimulate energy flow and release tension. Core Clearing is a gentler breathing style than Rebirthing.

  3. Mindfulness and Body Awareness: Throughout the session, participants are encouraged to cultivate mindfulness and body awareness, paying attention to sensations, emotions, and thoughts as they arise. This awareness helps individuals connect with and release stored emotions and trauma held in the body. The facilitator actively participates to guide the process and enable participants to tap into subconscious memories.

  4. Emotional Release: As the breathwork session progresses, participants may experience various emotions, memories, or sensations. These experiences are opportunities for emotional release and healing, allowing individuals to process and integrate unresolved issues or traumas.

  5. Integration: After the breathwork session, there is often a time for reflection, integration, and sharing experiences. Participants may engage in journaling, artwork, or other forms of creative expression to further process their insights and emotions.

Core Clearing Breathwork is often used to address a variety of issues, including stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, and self-limiting beliefs. It can be a powerful tool for personal transformation and spiritual growth when practised under the guidance of a qualified and experienced facilitator. It's important to note that while Core Clearing Breathwork can be deeply therapeutic, it may not be suitable for everyone, especially those with certain medical conditions or psychological concerns. Working with a trained professional who can provide support and guidance throughout the process is recommended.
